Hoarddit Update!
The initial launch of Amalbumate saw the images used for the album artwork being scraped from random wikipedia articles. The results were often underwhelming and rarely produced "imaginary music album-esque" results. More often than not, the images being returned were huge photographs of random buildings that didn't make for particularly exciting, eyecatching or interesting album covers.
After seeing a post on the sideproject subreddit by the user oxijosef about their newly-launched and extremely clever website; hoarddit and playing around with it for a bit. I came to realise two things - it's a genius and addictive concept which really makes the user focus on the art being "traded" and it's huge collection of images are consistently beautiful to look at and of the highest quality. This is exactly the kind of artwork that I'd been looking for from the start. After reaching out to oxijosef, I was permitted to integrate hoarddit into Amalbumate and thus, version 1.1 was born. I've also added an artwork scale slider to the "Adjust Album Art" toolkit.
I'm sure you'll agree that the migration from wikipedia to hoarddit has improved the fun factor and aesthetic of Amalbumate significantly.
Many thanks to the hoarddit team - check them out!
